How to make sodium cromoglycate-tetrahydrozoline hydrochloride eye drops

  • Cromoglicate inhibits mast cell degranulation, thereby preventing histamine release. Cromoglicate may also reduce the release of inflammatory leukotrienes. Cromoglicate may work by inhibiting calcium influx.
  • Tetrahydrozoline has vasoconstrictive and decongestant properties. It works by constricting the smaller arteries in the nasal passages and the blood vessels in the conjunctiva to relieve allergic rhinitis, nasal congestion, and eye irritation.

Medical uses of Chroma Eye Solution

  • It is used to prevent itching, inflammation and watery eyes.
  • Reduces redness, swelling and congestion of the eyes.
  • Helps reduce eye symptoms caused by allergies.

How to use Chroma eye solution

  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
  • Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
  • The recommended dosage is:
  • 1 or 2 drops in your eye 3-4 times daily
  • Doses may be changed under special circumstances, so always follow your doctor or pharmacist's instructions.
  • If you take more medicine than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital immediately.
  • If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose.
  • Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for a missed dose.

Side effects of Chroma Eye Solution

  • Although the following side effects are not common to everyone, some patients may experience:
  • Eye redness, dilated pupils, or blurred vision may occur.
  • If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

Use of Croma Eye Solution During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
  • Your doctor will discuss the potential risks and benefits of using this medication during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Warnings and precautions when using Chroma Eye Solution

  • Most eye drops can cause short-term blurred vision when first used, so you should wait until your eyes are clear before driving or using machinery.
  • If you wear soft contact lenses, do not use the drops while your contact lenses are in your eyes.
  • Wait 10 to 15 minutes after using the drops before replacing your lenses in your eyes.
  • Stop using the product and seek immediate medical attention if you experience tightness in your throat, swelling of your eyes, face, lips, or tongue, or if you feel faint or have difficulty breathing.
  • Stop using the product if you experience itching of the face or body.

How to store Chroma eye solution

  • Store below 25°C.
  • Don't cool down
  • After opening, the drops are safe for use in the eyes for 28 days. After that, using the drops can cause serious eye damage as bacteria may have entered the eye.
  • Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
  • Must be stored in the original container to protect from moisture.
  • Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the carton/blister/label. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
