Product Description:

Therapeutic group:

  • Vivisac Plus is a combination of two active ingredients, irbesartan and hydrochlorothiazide. Irbesartan belongs to a group of medicines known as angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Angiotensin II is a substance produced in the body that binds to receptors in blood vessels, causing them to tighten and leading to an increase in blood pressure. Irbesartan prevents angiotensin II from binding to these receptors, causing them to relax.
  • Hydrochlorothiazide is one of a group of medicines (called thiazide diuretics) that cause an increase in the amount of urine excreted and thus lower blood pressure.
  • The two active ingredients in Vivisac Plus work together to lower blood pressure more than if either active ingredient was given alone.

Therapeutic uses:

  • Vivisac Plus is used to treat high blood pressure when treatment with irbesartan or hydrochlorothiazide alone does not provide adequate control of blood pressure.

Directions for use:

  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Dosage:

  • The recommended dose of Vivisac Plus is one or two tablets daily. Vivisac Plus is usually prescribed by a doctor when previous treatment has not reduced blood pressure sufficiently.
  • Your doctor will advise you on how to switch from your previous treatment to Vivisac Plus.
  • How to take Vivisac Plus: Vivisac Plus is for oral use. The tablets should be swallowed with a sufficient amount of liquid (e.g., one glass of water). You can take Vivisac Plus regardless of food intake. The dividing line on the Vivisac Plus 5/150 mg tablet is not for dividing the tablet into equal doses. It is important that you continue taking Vivisac Plus until your doctor tells you otherwise.
  • The maximum blood pressure lowering effect should be achieved within 6-8 weeks after the start of treatment.
  • Vivisac Plus should not be given to children.
  • Vivisac Plus should not be given to children under 18 years of age. If a child swallows any tablets, contact your doctor immediately.
  • A. If you take more Vivisac Plus than you should
  • If you accidentally take too many tablets, contact your doctor immediately.
  • b. If you forget to take Vivisac Plus
  • If you accidentally miss your daily dose, just take the next dose as usual. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose. If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
  • A. If you stop taking Vivisac Plus
  • Do not stop taking Vivisac Plus tablets unless your doctor tells you to. You should stop taking Vivisac Plus tablets gradually, especially if you are taking a high dose, unless your doctor tells you otherwise. Stopping treatment suddenly may cause sudden effects such as increased heart rate.
  • Heart and high blood pressure. If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
