Isoconazole 10 mg, Diflucortolone 1 mg Cream

What is isoconazole/diflucortolone and what is it used for?

  • It is used for fungal infections of hairless skin, for example in the area of the hands, the spaces between the toes on the feet, and in the groin and genital area.
  • Because of the addition of diflucortolone valerate, it is indicated for the initial or intermediate treatment of those fungal diseases accompanied by severe inflammatory or eczematous skin conditions.

Do not use isoconazole or diflucortolone if you have:

  • Hypersensitivity to isokenzole or diflucortolone
  • Tuberculous or syphilitic processes in the area to be treated. Viral diseases (such as chickenpox, shingles), rosacea, perioral dermatitis
  • Skin reactions after vaccination in the area to be treated
  • It should not be applied to any area of skin wrinkles.

Warnings and precautions:

  • Glaucoma may develop from the use of topical corticosteroids after use in large doses or extensively over a long period of time.
  • In cases of inflammation between the toes, it is advisable to place a strip of gauze soaked in cream between the toes or fingers.
  • To avoid reinfection, personal linens (face towels, towels, underwear, etc. - preferably cotton) should be changed daily and boiled.
  • Regular hygiene measures are essential. In the case of athlete's foot, the space between the toes should be thoroughly dried after washing, and socks should be changed daily.

Possible side effects:

  • Local symptoms such as itching, burning, erythema, or vesicles may occur in isolated cases.

Other medications and isoconazole/diflucortolone:

  • No known interactions have been identified yet.

How to take isoconazole/diflucortolone:

  • It should be applied twice daily to the affected areas of skin.
  • Treatment should be discontinued after the inflammatory or eczematous skin condition has subsided, and treatment should be continued or followed up with isoconazole nitrate without the addition of a corticosteroid.
  • This applies particularly to use in the groin and genital areas.
  • In the event of a secondary bacterial skin infection, concomitant antimicrobial treatment should be administered.
  • In the case of a fungal infection, an effective topical antibiotic should be used.

How to store isoconazole/diflucortolone:

  • Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
  • Store below 25°C.
