Carbamazepine is an antiepileptic drug used to treat various types of epileptic seizures.
Medical uses of Tegretol 200 mg tablets:
- It treats some types of epilepsy
- It treats the pain associated with trigeminal neuralgia (sudden and recurrent attacks of facial pain).
- It controls serious mood disorders when other medications don't work.
How to use the product:
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
- Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.
- Doses may vary from patient to patient based on their age, medical condition, and whether or not they are taking other medications.
- Continue taking your medication for as long as your doctor tells you to.
- Do not stop taking this medication or reduce the dose without consulting your doctor first. Stopping the medication suddenly or reducing the dose may cause unwanted side effects or worsen your condition.
- Take your dose during or after a meal.
- Take it at the same time every day.
- Do not stop taking your medication without consulting your doctor.
- Swallow the tablets with a full glass of water; do not crush or chew them.
- Doses may be changed in special circumstances, so always follow the instructions of your doctor or pharmacist.
- If you take more medicine than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital immediately.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose.

• Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to carbamazepine or any other similar ingredients such as oxcarbazepine, amitriptyline or imipramine.
• It should be taken with caution in patients with heart conditions.

How to store Tegretol 200mg tablets
- Store below 25°C
- Do not refrigerate the medicine.
- Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
- It should be stored in the original box to protect it from moisture.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton/blister/label. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
