Why is Fosfomycin Trometamol used?
Fosfomycin is used to treat urinary tract infections in women caused by bacteria sensitive to fosfomycin.
Do not take fosfomycin trometamol.
• If you are allergic to the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Warnings and Precautions:
Tell your doctor about all your health conditions, including if you have:
• If you have suffered from severe diarrhea due to the use of antibiotics.
Possible side effects
Stop using this product and seek immediate medical attention if you develop a rash; itching; red, blistered, or peeling skin; tightness in the chest or throat; difficulty breathing, swallowing, or speaking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat. The frequency with which these side effects occur is not known.
Very common side effects:
• Diarrhea
• Nausea
• Headache
• Stomach upset
• Vaginal itching or discharge

• Tell your doctor about all the medicines you take.
• Do not take fosfomycin trometrol with metoclopramide.
How to take fosfomycin trometamol
• This medicine is not used in children under 12 years of age.
• Take this medicine as directed by your doctor.
• Mix with 1/2 cup of water and drink immediately. Do not use hot water.
• The recommended dose is one 3 gram sachet orally as a single dose.
How to store Fosfomycin Trometamol
• Store at room temperature 68 to 77°F (20 to 25°C) in a dry place.
• Keep this medicine out of reach of children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date shown on the carton.
