Betadine® Medicated Vaginal Douche (with applicator) contains povidone-iodine, a broad-spectrum antimicrobial. It is effective for all types of vaginal infections. It provides fast relief from localized symptoms associated with infections, such as itching and burning. It is used as a vaginal cleanser to treat vaginal infections caused by Candida or Trichomonas, nonspecific or mixed infections, and as a vaginal antiseptic before surgical procedures.

Usage guidelines:
Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has prescribed. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you do not know the answer.
Be sure.
For use by adults and the elderly
Vaginal use.
Use once daily, preferably in the morning, for 14 days (including menstrual days) or as recommended by your doctor.
Add two capfuls of the concentrated liquid into the squeeze bottle.
Fill the pressure cooker with lukewarm water.
Attach the applicator to the top of the squeeze bottle and shake gently.
Carefully insert the applicator into the upper vagina without causing discomfort. Squeeze out as much fluid as possible by gently pressing on it.
The sides of the squeeze pack allow the liquid to flow freely from the vagina.
Remove the applicator from the vagina to allow air to return to the compression pack until it regains its original shape.
Reinsert the applicator into the vagina or press again to clean the vagina thoroughly.
Repeat this step until all of Betadine® Medicated Vaginal Douche (with applicators) has been used.
Finally, rinse away any excess solution from around the vagina with a clean sponge or flannel cloth. Pat the vaginal area dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
Wash the empty container and applicator with warm water and store them for next use.
Warnings and precautions:
Do not use in cases of allergy to povidone-iodine or other additives.
Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to iodine or any of the other additives.
It is not used in cases of thyroid disorders (especially nodular goiter and endemic goiter) and Hashimoto's thyroiditis.
It is not used for patients undergoing lithium treatment.
Its use is prohibited in pre-pubescent children.
Before, during and after the administration of radioactive iodine.
It is not used for patients undergoing treatment with products containing mercury.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Betadine® Medicated Vaginal Douche (with applicator) should only be used as prescribed by a doctor. Povidone-iodine is absorbed, crosses the placental barrier, and is excreted in breast milk. The use of povidone-iodine should be avoided unless the potential benefit to the mother justifies the potential risks to the fetus and newborn, or unless a safer alternative is unavailable. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.
