What is the drug Benzaflex?

Benzaflix contains 5mg of cyclobenzaprine for the treatment of muscle spasms, as it relieves muscle pain and injuries.

How does the drug Benzaflex work?

Cyclobenzaprine is used to block signals to the brain that reduce muscle contraction, thus keeping muscles relaxed.

How will using Benzaflex benefit me?

This medication is used for the following reasons:

• To tighten muscles.
• Muscle swelling and injuries.
• An adjunct to physiotherapy for muscles.

How should this product be taken?

• The medication is taken by adults at a dose of 5 mg every 8 hours (three times a day) before or after meals. It can be taken after meals in cases of digestive upset. The dosage may be increased to 7.5-10 mg every 8 hours depending on the individual case and the doctor's prescription.
• If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the second dose to avoid taking more than one dose at the same time.

What are the side effects of this product?

Some patients may experience the following:

What are the warnings and precautions for this medication?

• Speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have ever had stomach ulcers, liver, kidney, heart, or asthma problems, are allergic to any component of this medicine, have urinary retention, or have an overactive thyroid.
• This medicine should not be used for more than 2-3 weeks.
• It is advised not to drive immediately after taking the medication.
• It is not recommended to drink alcohol or take other central nervous system depressants to avoid weakness and fatigue in muscle function.
• It is not recommended to take it with drugs that increase serotonin (such as serotonin reuptake inhibitors, serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants, tramadol, bupropion, meperidine, verapamil, or antidepressants) to avoid serotonin syndrome.
• It is recommended to separate Benzaflex from these medications by at least 14 days.
• This medicine is not used in cases of seizures associated with brain or spinal cord diseases or cerebral palsy in children.
• Caution should be exercised when administering this medication to the elderly, as they are more susceptible to side effects.
• It is recommended to stop taking serotonin antagonist medications 14 days before taking Benzaflex (such as fluoxetine, paroxetine, duloxetine, venlafaxine).

What are the methods for preserving medicine?

• It should be stored in its original packaging at a temperature below 25 degrees Celsius and the medicine should not be refrigerated.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton.
