Product description:

• Isoptin is a calcium channel blocker that lowers blood pressure and makes the heart work easier by reducing the heart's pumping force and widening blood vessels so that resistance in the body's blood vessels is reduced.
• This improves the supply of oxygen to the heart muscle.
• Isoptin is used against various forms of heart spasms (angina) and against high blood pressure (hypertension).

Usage guidelines:

• The dosage is determined by the doctor who will adjust it for you.
• Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Contact a doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The usual adult dosage is:

• 120-240 mg 1-2 times a day, usually 240 mg in the morning.
• Long-acting tablets can be split, but must not be crushed or chewed.

Use in children and adolescents:

• There is no data available on the use of long-acting verapamil tablets in children and adolescents.

If you are taking too much Isoptin 240:

• Contact a doctor, hospital, or poison control center if you take too much medication or if a child accidentally takes medication.

If you forget to take Isoptin 240:

• You should not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

If you stop taking Isoptin 240:

• In the event of an acute heart attack with complications.
• If you suffer from low blood pressure, low heart rate, palpitations, other heart rhythm disorders, impaired left ventricular function, heart failure, severe liver dysfunction, or kidney dysfunction.
• If you suffer from any form of disease that causes weakness or fatigue in the muscles (myasthenia gravis, Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome (LEMS) and Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD)).
• Consult your doctor before starting treatment.
