Product Description:

• Isoptin is a calcium channel blocker that lowers blood pressure and makes the heart work easier by reducing the force of the heart's pumping and widening blood vessels so that the resistance in the blood vessels in the body is reduced.
• This improves the oxygen supply to the heart muscle.
• Isoptin is used against various forms of heart spasms (angina) and against high blood pressure (hypertension).

Directions for use:

• The dosage is determined by your doctor who will adjust it for you.
• Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Contact a doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The usual dosage for adults is:

• 120-240 mg 1-2 times a day, usually 240 mg in the morning.
• Extended-release tablets may be split, but should not be crushed or chewed.

Use in children and adolescents:

• There are no data available on the use of extended-release verapamil tablets in children and adolescents.

If you take too much Isoptin 240:

• Call a doctor, hospital, or poison control center if you take too much medicine or if a child accidentally takes the medicine.
• For other questions about the medicine, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

If you forget to take Isoptin 240:

• You should not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

If you stop treatment with Isoptin 240:

• Consult your doctor if it is appropriate to interrupt treatment.
• Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions about the use of this medicine.

Warnings and Precautions:

• Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Isoptin 240.
• Exercise caution when using Isoptin 240.
• In case of acute heart attack with complications.
• If you have low blood pressure, low heart rate, palpitations, other heart rhythm disturbances, impaired left ventricular function, heart failure, severe liver dysfunction, or kidney dysfunction.
• If you suffer from any form of disease that causes muscle weakness or fatigue (myasthenia gravis, Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome (LEMS) and Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD)).
• Consult your doctor before starting treatment.
