Product Description:

Aprovasc is a combination of two medications:

Irbesartan and amlodipine:

  • Irbesartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB):
  • It relaxes blood vessels by blocking the action of a chemical that normally makes blood vessels tighter.
  • This lowers blood pressure, allowing blood to flow more smoothly to various organs and the heart to pump more efficiently.

Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker:

  • In case of high blood pressure, it normalizes blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels to reduce pressure on them, thus improving blood flow in the body.
  • The increased blood flow in the body relaxes the heart muscles by reducing the workload on the heart. It also improves oxygen flow throughout the body, thus preventing any heart-related chest pain.

Uses of Aprovasc:

  • In the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure)
  • Aprovasc works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily around the body.
  • This effectively lowers blood pressure.
  • If your blood pressure is controlled, you are less likely to have a heart attack, stroke, or kidney problems.
  • Aprovasc must be taken regularly as prescribed to be effective.
  • You usually don't feel any immediate benefit from taking this medication, but it works in the long run to keep you healthy.
  • Along with taking Abrovasc tablets, make appropriate lifestyle changes, such as eating healthy and staying active, to keep your blood pressure in the normal range.
