Helpful tips to lower blood pressure

  • In addition to adhering to treatment, the following tips may help control blood pressure levels:
  1. Avoid foods that are high in fat.
  2. Avoid caffeinated drinks such as coffee and soft drinks.
  3. Reduce salt intake by avoiding foods that contain high levels of sodium, such as salted nuts and pickles, which may lead to high blood pressure, and replacing them with fresh green salad.
  4. Exercise regularly
  5. Regularly measure blood pressure. Patients with high blood pressure are advised to have a home measuring device on a regular basis.
  • Precautions to take when measuring blood pressure:
  1. Check your device's accuracy. Before using the device for the first time,
  2. Measure your blood pressure twice a day.
  3. Don't measure your blood pressure immediately after waking up. You can prepare for the day, but don't eat breakfast or take any medications before measuring your blood pressure.
  4. Avoid eating, caffeine, and tobacco for 30 minutes before the measurement.
  5. Sit quietly before and during your blood pressure measurement. When you're ready to take your blood pressure, sit for five minutes in a comfortable position with your legs and ankles relaxed and your back supported on a chair.
  6. Place the bracelet directly on the skin, not on clothing.
  7. Do not talk while measuring blood pressure.
