What is ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine hydrochloride/chlorpheniramine maleate and what is it used for?
Ibuprofen/Pseudoephedrine HCl/Chlorpheniramine Maleate is a medication made up of three ingredients: ibuprofen, an anti-inflammatory drug used to treat pain and fever; pseudoephedrine HCl, a decongestant used to clear congested nasal passages; and chlorpheniramine maleate, an antihistamine used to treat allergies such as watery eyes and sneezing.
Ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine hydrochloride/chlorpheniramine maleate is used to relieve upper respiratory symptoms associated with allergies and to treat cold symptoms such as runny or stuffy nose, body aches, mild headache, fever, and sore throat.
What you need to know before taking ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine hydrochloride/chlorpheniramine maleate:
Do not take ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine hydrochloride/chlorpheniramine maleate:
• If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant.
• If you are breastfeeding. Ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine hydrochloride/chlorpheniramine maleate can pass into breast milk and may harm your baby.
• If you have liver problems.
• If you are allergic to anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin.

Ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine hydrochloride/chlorpheniramine maleate can cause serious side effects. These side effects occur only in a small number of people and include:
• Ulcer and painful stomach
• Insomnia
• Increased heart rate and high blood pressure
• Headache

Tell your doctor about all the medicines you take, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
Ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine hydrochloride/chlorpheniramine maleate can interact with certain other medications, causing serious side effects. Tell your doctor especially if you are taking medications for:
• Depression
• Migraine
• All kinds of pain
• Parkinson's disease
• Immune diseases
• Cancer
• Heart disease
• Prostate disease
• Diabetes
• Blood thinning medications
How to take ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine hydrochloride/chlorpheniramine maleate:
12 years and above:
• 1 tablet/capsule taken orally every 4-6 hours; may increase to 2 capsules/capsules every 4-6 hours if needed while symptoms persist.
• Do not exceed 6 doses within a 24-hour period.
• Take with or after a meal.
Under 12 years:
• Do not take.
How to store ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine hydrochloride/chlorpheniramine maleate:
• Store ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine hydrochloride/chlorpheniramine maleate at room temperature, 68 to 77°F (20 to 25°C).
• Do not keep expired or no longer needed medicines.
• Keep ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine hydrochloride/chlorpheniramine maleate and all medicines out of the reach of children. Keep medicines where children cannot get to them.
